Abstract This study was designed to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of MV A technology in the management of . incomplete abortion in comporison to the traditional sharp curettage. The study included 400 women with incomplete abortion admitted to the Emergency Unit of Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, Mansoura University Hospital. The study was carried out over a period of about two years (from Novmber 1996 to October 1998). WOlTIan included in the study were divided into two groups; group I (300 cases); in whom MV A was used to treat incomplete abortion and group II (100 cases) in WhOlTI sharp curettage was used in treatment of incomplete abortion. Women of both groups were matched regarding demographic data (age and residance) and reproductive data (gravidity, parity, provious cesarean sections, previons abortions and current abortion status). The presenting .complaints showed no statistically significant difference as well. MV A proved to be more safe with less procedure-related |
