Abstract Fertility of man and that of land is necessary for survival. Infertility on the other hand is a family problem of considerable magnitude that have a profound effect on the psycho-sexual aspects of the couple’s relationship. Proper diagnosis is the key for successful management of the infertile couple. HSG and laparoscopy are widely used to evaluate the uterine, tubal and peritoneal factors of female infertility. HSG is a simple procedure that delineates the internal architecture of the female genital tract, despite this. Its diagnostic reliability compared to laparoscopy is a matter of controversy among gynaecologists. In this study we compared the diagnostic accuracy of HSG (both conventionaf and under fluoroscopic guidance) and laparoscopy in 60 infertile women for more than one year.
