Also, immune logical abnormalities in epileptic: humans have been reported c’/4a_rli. and Fan (.etna* 1Q%O3. So, we planned to investigate the HI...A antigen frequencies and humor1 a.I and cell mediated immunity in idiopathic epilepsy. Our study comprised the members of 15 multiplex families, each having more than one sib affected with generalized tonic—ctonic seizures. They included 28 parents (one of them was epiletic) and 64 siblings, 31 of them were? epileptics. Only 19 of them received treatment which was epa.rtutin for all cases. : All subjects were submitted to the following : 1- Clinica1 ”general and neurological examination. 2- EEG recording. 3- Pedigree construction for tfie 15 multiplex families. 4- HLA typing as a genetic marker. 5™ Determination of Pan—T, T—helper, T—suppressor cells, 6-- Determination of serum levels of IgA, IgG and IgM. Analysis of the data obtained revealed the following : - High incidence of consanguinity (53.37.) and high inbreeding ”coefficient (0.02A1). |
