Abstract This study was performed on 50 patients (20 vzl th 15 with acute viral hepatitis, and 15 with 0bilharzial hepatosplenomegaly) as well as 15 normal for statistical comparison. All patients and controls were subjected to thoro .... ugh clinical ’examination and to the following laboratory investigations : - Serum ferritin level by the technique of E.L.I.B.A. - Serum alpha-fetoprotein level by the technique of E.L.I.S.A. - Serum iron level. - Serum bilirubin level (total and direct). - Serum transaminases levels (SGOT and SGPT). - Serum total protein and serum albumin levels. - Serum alkaline phosphatase level. In addi tion , liver biopsy end abdominal ul trtwonio sClln were done for some patients of the J groups. From this work it was found that : - Serum A.li’.P. level showed a highly significant inCreo,l3fl in hepatoma, a significant increase in acute viral hepc:i”~ titis, end a nonsignificant decrease in bilharzial . |
