Abstract Idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy is a heart disease of unknown etiology , characterized by depressed ventricular function, usually associated with enlargement of cardiac enlargement. , I Cardiomyopathy has been seen in various neuromuscular disorders The aim of our work was to detect skeletal muscle changes that may occur in patients with idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy. Twenty selected cases of idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy were studied in comparison to 10 normal subjects as a control group. each case was examined clinically and investigated by electrocardiography, echo cardiography and electromyography. Our study revealed the following • Idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy affect all age groups. • The echocardiographic finding of M. mode echocardiogram shows left ventricle and right ventricle enlargement with abnormal indices of left ventricle ftmction (i.e decrease ejection fraction and fractional shortening). • There is no significant difference between the patients and control in the supraspinatus duration and amplitude and also there is no significant difference of the abductor policus brevis duration and amplitude |
