Abstract Twenty-nine ladies were included in this study. They were selected from those admitted to the obstetric department of Mnansoura University Hospital and from those attending regularly to the Obstetric Oatpatient clinic. All cases were in the antenatal period between28-40 weeks of gestation. The patients were classifified into :- 1 - Pre-eclaurptic group: including 8 pregnant woman.having systemic hypertension. with oedema and/or proteinuria, subdivided into:- A. Mild pre-eclampsia : including 8 pregnant women. Having sys-cemic hypertension with diastolic blood pressure not exceeding 110 mm Hg. with 1+ oedema and –ve or 1 + proteinuria. B. Severe pre-eclampsia : including 12 pregnant women.havhng systemic hypertension with diastolic blood pressure Yriore than 110 mm hg. 2+ or more pitting oedema a-rid 2+ proteinuria. II – Diabetic group: nine pregenant women with insulin-dependent diabetes. They were under insulin therapy. |
