Abstract
This study was conducted on thirty eight adult pa- tients submitted for elective lower abdominal surgical procedures under subarachenoid block. They were classi-f ied into three groups:control group (diazepam group),ten patients,(cimetidine,diazepam group) eighteen tients and (cimetidine group), ten patients Patients of diazepam group received diazepam in dose of 0 2mg/kg after regional anaesthesia which was conducted by heavy bupivacaine 0.5% 2-3 milliliters. Cimetidine, diazepam group is divided into three sub-groups each of six patients. Subgroups I,II & IIIceived cimetidine 200, 400, 800 mg one hour preoperative- ly respectively Immediately after’subarachenoid block,we gave diazepam. in a dose of 0.2 mg/kg.
