Abstract
Propolis is a dark sticky substance collected by honeybees from various plant sources to be used in different purposes inside the beehives. Therefore, the present study was carried out to investigated some factors affecting propolis gathering by honeybee under Egyptian conditions in Dakhalia province. Also, the protective effect of various propolis extracts (PWE & PEE) collected from an experimental apiary located in Meet Ghamr region as well as PTS was studied against liver toxicity induced chemically by CCl4. The present study showed that the amount of collected propolis was increased by increasing the temperature through spring and summer seasons and the different propolis extract have a strong hepatoprotective effect.
