Abstract A general method is developed for the solution of the schrodinger equation for an electron in a strong magnetic field and in the presence of the Coulomb potential of the ions. The solutions for this case were obtained by a small perturbation. The problem is then reduced to solving a one - dimensional Schrodinger equation. This approximation is valid if the field strength is so strong. This solution shall be of great benefit to problems of radiation processes in pulsars such as synchrotron radiation and bremsstrahlung. |
