Abstract

Educational spaces are one of the most critical operations laid down with the architect, a school design is a foundation stone to build/re-build any community. According to current financial variability, political crises, and continuous lack of resources around the world, the gap between human classes is widespread, leading to extremely poor, and recently refugees’ communities. Regarding to education, commonly traditional school buildings with fixed structures are not effective nor closely available to these categories with extremely low resources and barley any infrastructure, therefore, it has been essential to adopt new concepts to activate the function and impact of educational spaces in the most urgent communities. The study aims to create a schooling “system” not fixed building to fulfill the task of providing educational spaces, depending on the elements of adaptability with social, low-cost impact according to their main terms. Second, to implement the child`s psychological- physiological development elements from (6 :13) years old “Middle childhood: Early adolescence” inside the design, in which helps the child`s to have a properly built on character. In Egypt, there are several areas/locations of extremely poverty, the two highly alarming main case studies in current phase are first, Upper Egypt`s rural villages which have the highest ratio of extreme poverty in Egypt, second, refugee camps that became part and parcel of any current standing country especially Egypt for its strategic borders, both representing an urgent need for children`s educational rescue. The research is achieving the task of creating school systems suitable to each case-study considering its adopted criteria. The Study`s main aspects organized in the thesis as following:First, a main study of the child`s psychological – physiological development elements of the selected age (6:13 years) and its effect in the design process of each school zone.Second, the thesis is providing a data base of poverty rates and its relation to education and educational buildings in Egypt as a basis to state the country`s current situation before acting.Third, an illustration of terms and elements of adaptability & socio- economic impact as the study main aspects, followed by a full analysis of adaptable socio- economic school models.Forth, an applied basis to create/assess adaptable socio- economic schooling systems in the two most urgent case studies in Egypt according to its adopted design criteria (project-base models).”
