Abstract

This study investigated the effectiveness of a program based on digital posters and video-based reflection in developing preparatory stage pupils’ EFL speaking skills. Sixty 1st-year preparatory school pupils were divided into a control group (n = 30) and an experimental grou (n = 30).The instruments and materials were an EFL speaking skills checklist , an EFL speaking skills test, with an EFL speaking skills rubric, a program based on digital posters and video-based reflection, a student’s book, and a Teacher’ guide. a teacher’s guide. Both groups were pretested on the EFL speaking skills (Vocabulary- Grammar- Pronunciation- Fluency- Language Functions) before the experiment and then post tested after it. The experimental treatment lasted for two weeks, one session daily, during the 1st. term of the school year 2023/2024. The participants in the control group received their regular instruction while those in the experimental group were taught using the program based on digital posters and video-based reflection. The results of the t-test revealed that the participants’ EFL speaking skills were developed as a result of using the program. This led the researcher to reach the conclusion that digital posters and video- based reflection significantly developed the EFL speaking skills of preparatory school pupils.
