Abstract The current study was conducted to compare the effect of LLLT on biostimulation of dentin bridge formation in deep cavities versus the conventional pulp capping therapy without application of laser through, clinical evaluation as well as radiographic assessment of formed dentin bridge thickness using digital periapical radiographs. This was done in a specific time intervals (3 months, 6 months and 12 months). MTA was used as a direct pulp capping material in both groups. A total of 32 patients with deeply carious lesions were selected according to certain inclusion and exclusion criteria, patients were divided into two groups each of 16 patients. The first group was the control group that received conventional direct pulp capping therapy without any laser intervention, whereas the second tested group received laser assisted direct pulp capping using diode laser. In both groups, MTA was used and applied according to the manufacturer instructions followed by RMGI as a temporary restoration. History was taken, preclinical and radiographic examination was done in both groups, as well as caries removal, bleeding control using cotton pellets , proper rubber dam isolation and direct pulp capping was done. |
