Abstract Due to the high biological impotance of many condensed pyrazolopyridine derevatives as pharmacophores in drug synthesis, our aim is 1. the synthesis of new derivatives of such compounds .Attatchment of such heterocyclic system is expected to result in the formation of products of great interest. 2. Evaluation of performed pyrazolopyridines for their biological activity. In thesis we were promoted for the following: 1. Synthesis of new substituted pyrazolopyridine derivatives from pyrazolone derivatives. 2. Study of the reaction of some of the synthesized ester derivatives with hydrazine hydrate to form the corresponding hydrazide derivatives. 3. Reaction of the last hydrazides with different aldehydes to form schiff’s base derivatives. 4. Heterocyclization of the resulting schiff’s bases to the corresponding 1,3,4- oxadiazoles ring system. 5. Glycosylation of the resulting functionalized hydrazide and oxadiazole derivatives by reaction with different D- sugars. 6. Preparation of the acetylated analogs of the hydrazinyl sugars by reaction with acetic anhydride. 7. Elucidation of the structure of the synthesized compounds by analytical and spectral data such as IR, NMR, mass spectra and elemental analysis. 8. Evaluation of the biological activity of the newly synthesized compounds as potential agents. |
