Abstract Colorectal carcinoma (CRC) is a major health problem. It is the third most common malignancy worldwide and the fourth most common cause of cancer-related death. In Egypt, it represents about one third of the whole gastrointestinal tumors, ranking the third in male and the fourth in female. The interactive relationship between tumor cells and immune microenvironment has been involved in colorectal carcinogenesis. The antigens produced by emerging tumor cells stimulate immune response in different immune cells especially T lymphocytes (TILs). On the other hand, a different type of T-cells, regulatory T- cells (Tregs) suppress immunity protecting tumor cells from immune attack. |
