Abstract Assisted reproductive technology (ART), by the American Center for Disease Control (CDC) definition, are any fertility- related treatments in which eggs or embryos are manipulated. ART incorporates a variety of infertility treatments aiming to achieve conception such as ovulation induction, in vitro fertilization, intracytoplasmic sperm injection, cryopreservation of gametes and embryos and oocyte donation. ART have been associated with an increase in the prevalence of fetal morbidities and adverse perinatal outcomes. Hence, it is of the upmost importance to evaluate whether the neurodevelopmental outcomes of children born after ART are affected in comparison with children conceived naturally. |
