Abstract The present study was conducted to compare between the effect of A-PRF/Nanobone mixture and L-PRF/Nanobone mixture on bone regeneration after enucleation of maxillary cysts. The study was conducted on 21 patients seeking treatment of maxillary radicular cysts and reconstruction of the residual bone defect. Patients were randomly split into three groups; each one has seven patients. Preoperative instructions and antibiotics were given to all patients and then after surgical removal of the cystic lesions, patients received the grafting materials in the residual defects according to their group. group A was grafted with A-PRF/Nanobone mixture, group B grafted with L-PRF/Nanobone mixture while group C was a control group with no grafting material. Wound closure was done, and post operative antibiotics were prescribed. Radiographic follow up was done six months postoperatively by CT scan for evaluation of the change in volume and size of the residual defect and density of newly formed bone after grafting. The A-PRF showed greater bone formation, increase density and reduction of defect volume and size than L-PRF. And L-PRF is better than control group. |
