Abstract Gliomas, representing a diverse group of brain tumors, pose significant challenges in terms of surgical resection and postoperative management. This study focuses on a comprehensive analysis of patient demographics, clinical presentation, tumor characteristics, surgical outcomes, and complications in a cohort of patients undergoing glioma surgery using intra operative ultrasound Understanding these factors is crucial for improving surgical strategies and patient care. The study included 45 patients, with a near-equal distribution of males (51.1%) and females (48.9%), and a mean age of 47.73 years (SD 15.42). Data collected encompassed various aspects: demographic details, clinical presentation (including symptoms like fits and hemiparesis), tumor location (such as temporal and frontal lobes), histopathological type (high grade and low grade gliomas), extent of resection (intraoperative and postoperative), and postoperative complications. Statistical methods, including the use of kappa statistics for agreement between intraoperative and postoperative assessments of tumor resection, were employed for analysis. |
