Abstract Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic multisystemic disease resulting from carbohydrate intolerance. The chronic hyperglycemia of diabetes is associated with long-term damage, dysfunction, and failure of different organs. Women with preexisting diabetes mellitus face a higher risk of pregnancy complications such as preeclampsia, fetal overgrowth, genital trauma and cesarean delivery. At present, color Doppler ultrasound is often used for prenatal screening of fetuses in obstetrics. It is an important means of health care during pregnancy and has high clinical application value. The aim of this study: was to assess the effect of glycemic control on Doppler indices of uterine, umbilical and middle cerebral arteries in pregestational and gestational diabetic pregnant (GDM) women, also, to correlate changes in maternal blood glucose levels, glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and Doppler indices related to pregnancy outcome. |
