Abstract

Inver plan Intensity modulated radiation therapy (IP IMRT) is an advanced technique of conformal radiotherapy forward plan Intensity modulated radiation therapy. IP IMRT permits more accurate radiation delivery and dose intensity optimization to certain volumes while avoiding exposure to vital normal structures by changing not only beam geometry but also beam intensity.
The aim of this study was to compare target dose coverage and sparing of surrounding organs at risk of FP IMRT and IP IMRT plans for left sided breast cancer This study includes thirty patients with locally advanced left side breast cancer of BCS and MRM with positive or negative regional lymph nodes, they were directed to the Alexandria University Faculty of Medicine’s Clinical Oncology and Nuclear Medicine Department (ACOD). from September 2018 to November 2020 they were planned and calculated with 6MV photon beam on Monaco treatment planning system.
