Abstract Among all infectious diseases that infect human, tuberculosis (TB) remains one of the deadliest and about one-third of the world population is infected with mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) (World Health Organization (WHO), 2014). Like many other infectious diseases, TB presents epidemic cycles that might, although rarely, take centuries to end its course with emergence of new mutant strains developing resistance to anti-tuberculous drugs. So, the struggle between human and these mutant organisms will continue, which created a critical need for technologies not only for diagnosis of TB but also for detection of mutant organisms with resistance to anti-tuberculous drugs ( Neto et al.,2009). |
