Abstract

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) is a novel strain of the coronavirus family and the causative viral strain of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.COVID-19 is highly infectious and can lead to fatal comorbidities, especially ARDS.COVID-19 is not only respiratory disease but also a multisystem disease and respiratory symptoms may be present or absent in COVID-19 patients according to multiple factors such as viral overloading, genetic factors, immune reactions, cytokine storm, and comorbidities.
