Abstract

Newcastle disease (ND) is a highly infectious viral disease that affects domestic and wild birds of various avian species. It is considered one of the most serious diseases that threaten the poultry industry worldwide and has a negative impact on poultry production.
NDV genotype VII is now implicated in the currently circulating NDV outbreaks in the Middle East. In this study, different vaccination regimens were evaluated against challenge with currently circulating field vNDV genotype VIId using two commercial recombinant herpesvirus of turkey vector vaccines (rHVT-NDV-IBDV) that express the fusion (F) protein of NDV and the virus protein 2 (VP2) of infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV). Two hundred and forty seven chicks Ross broiler chicks were divided into 19 groups at hatch (day 0), n=13/groups (10 challenged and 3 contacts added after challenge) for three experiments I, II, and III.
