Abstract Fashion designers apply green fashion trend in clothing making process focusing on decreasing harmful side effects of fashion industry using sustainable materials and renewable source of energy, eco-chic design, textile recycling, clothing reuse options, and zero-waste fashion. For that the new trend to apply in fashion production is creative pattern cutting via apply creative strategies (zero waste) to cut, drape, or manipulate pattern when producing a prototype for a certain garment design. Zero waste design technique of garment production was adopted to implement sustainable green fashion trend using bio-polished cellulosic fabrics. fourteen sustainable fashion designs were created for women between (20-40) years old were drawn and implemented taking into consideration zero waste design techniques, cut and drape, best fit and appearance, as well as elimination waste of cutting process, functional, aesthetical, elements and principles were evaluated. To achieve this research objectives, the following steps were done: 1. Cotton fabric 100% with different fabric constructions was bio-finished using cellulase enzyme (2 g/l) at 50°C for 30 min, followed by rinsing and drying on the industrial scale. 2. some mechanical properties were measured and the following were results: - As a result of the treatments, the fuzz and protruding fibers were removed from fabric surface, which led to an improvement in the properties of fabric elongation, stiffness, drapeability, crease recovery angle and water absorbency by 36.1%, 22.8%, 15%, 11.88%, 50% of cotton fabric and 16.1%, 6.7%, 8%, 2.7%, 57% of cotton gauze fabric respectively. -Tensile strength, and tear resistance properties was decreased by 29.6% ,22.7% of cotton XIII fabric and 44.8%, 7.29% of cotton gauze fabric respectively as a result of enzymatic treatment. -Water absorbency and crease recovery angle properties of single jersey fabric was improved with 90%, 8.7% respectively but bursting resistance and stiffness properties of single jersey fabric were decreased by 3.5%, 5% respectively as a result of enzymatic treatment. 3. Fourteen fashion designs for women between (20-40) years old were designed. |
