Abstract In this thesis, we introduce the design, modeling and simulation of a proposed vibration based electrostatic MEMS converter used in energy harvesting systems. The performance of the converter is enhanced and its output power is maximized to a multiple of 1 mW to have an efficient renewable energy source. The maximized value of the output power makes the converter competitive with the piezoelectric energy harvester. The overall enhanced performance of the converter gives promising application for self-powering wireless sensor networks which depends on the vibration as an input. |
