Abstract Millimeter wave Power Amplifiers are used in a wide variety of applications including Wireless Communication, TV transmissions, Radar, and RF heating. The most important parameters that defines an RF Power Amplifier are output power, gain, linearity, stability and efficiency. There is a tradeoff between these parameters. The required application in which the power amplifier is to be used determines the importance of each parameter. In this thesis, a parasitic-aware design-aware simulation-based tool for the design of a highly linear RF power amplifier is introduced. The tool is validated by designing three power amplifiers operating at 7GHz, 10GHz, and 13GHz using 65nm technology node. |
