Abstract

One hundred and twenty soil samples were collected from rhizosphere of some plants from 5 Governorates (Sohag, Qena, Luxor, Aswan and Red-sea) in Upper Egypt including cultivated, desert and saline soils (each, 40 samples). Analyses of the three types of soils were studied, soils tested proved to be clay, sandy to loam and sandy of cultivated, desert and saline soils, respectively. The cultivated soil were moderate to high moisture (based on rate of irrigation) and organic matter contents, approximately neutral pH value, and low total dissolving salts, had available contents of macro-elements and Fe++ with low contents of Mn++, Zn++ and Na+.
