Abstract

In the present study, experiments were carried out to investigate clays as good, available, local, and low-cost adsorbents for wastewater treatment. first, kaolin clay , experiments were carried out to investigate the effect of kaolin naturally occurring, wastewater strength and adsorbent dosage on the removal of organic and inorganic pollutant, and pathogenic microorganisms that elements, represented by COD (chemical oxygen demand), BOD (biological oxygen demand), TSS (total suspended solids), O&G (oil and grease), and from a real municipal wastewater. kaolin exhibit effective removal efficiencies over the different concentration ranges, and pH 3–12. The maximum recovery efficiencies of COD, BOD , TSS, turbidity, Oil & grease , the heavy metals ,and Total coliform are 83% , 86%, 95%,95% ,77%,100% and 99.98% respectively .for the first treatment. Second nano bentonite In the batch mode, experiments were carried out to investigate the effect of contact time, wastewater strength and adsorbent dosage on the removal of COD, BOD, TSS, oil & grease ,heavy metals ,and pathogens total and fecal coliform bacteria from a real municipal wastewater samples, nanobentonite exhibit effective removal efficiencies over the different concentration ranges ,and pH 2–12. For nanobentonite The efficiency of removal has been calculated and found that some of the elements such as COD, BOD, O&G and TSS removal percentage between 80-90-77-93% respectively through180min, the removal percentage exceed 99%for microbial pollutants through 3 hr, while, Heavy elements the removal percentage 80%, 90 %, 80%, and 90% for Fe, Cu, Cr, and Zn within 3hours ,and efficiency of removing oil and grease reached 80%within 3 hour for the first treatment that raw samples collected from different wastewater plants Fayoum government (Drinking Water and Sanitation Company in Fayoum). with different concentration ranges. Doses of kaolin and nanobentonite were
