This study discusses the position of the State of Kuwait on the issues of the Arab world during the era of the ruler of Kuwait, Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, in the period from 1977 AD to 2006 AD. And managing the affairs of governance through the important positions he held before assuming the Emirate of Kuwait, and that chapter of this study was concerned with the Arab policy of Sheikh Jaber Al-Sabah before he assumed the reins of government of the State of Kuwait in 1977 AD.The second chapter dealt with Kuwait’s position on the developments of the Palestinian issue during that time period, Kuwait’s relationship with the Palestine Liberation Organization and other Palestinian organizations and factions, the Arab-Israeli conflict, and Kuwait’s support for the Arab countries in that conflict. Saddam Hussein during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in August 1990.
In the third chapter, this study dealt with Kuwait’s position on the Iran-Iraq war and the attempts made by Kuwait to end that war, and the effects that befell Kuwait as a result of this war. This chapter also deals with the operations to liberate Kuwait from the grip of Saddam Hussein.In the fifth chapter, this study dealt with talk about Kuwait and Arab unionist organizations, articularly the League of Arab States, the Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States, and other Arab unionist organizations such as the Maghreb Union. The American position on Iraq before the events of the invasion, as well as the Kuwaiti position on the events of the invasion and the Kuwaiti-Iraqi relations after the fall of Saddam Hussein’s regime.This study has reached many general and important results, foremost of which is the extent of Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah’s interest in Arab issues and problems before he took over the rule of the Emirate of Kuwait in 1977 AD, and at the forefront of Sheikh Jaber’s interest in Arab issues at that time was interest in the Palestinian cause and support for relations between Kuwait and other Arab countries.Among the important findings of this study are Kuwait’s attempts to support an end to the Iranian war, and to clarify the extent of Kuwaiti financial and political support for the Iraqi regime in that war, and how Kuwait has suffered negative results and effects as a result of the outbreak of that war, represented in the terrorist incidents that struck Kuwait at that time as well as Political assassinations that tried hard to destabilize the security and independence of Kuwait and undermine its national symbols.Also, this study clarified the reasons and motives that led to Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait in 1990 AD, and the various Arab positions towards this invasion, foremost of which is the Palestinian position that is biased towards the regime in Iraq.
