Abstract
The study area is the west Manzala concession lies between the Abu Madi gas field to the west and the Manzala Lake in the east, where The West El Qantara concession lies at the south of the El Manzala Lake and west of the Qantara Oil and Gas field in the northern onshore area of the Nile Delta.
El Wastani-1 well located within the northern part of the study area; was drilled and tested by IEOC in 1968. El Wastani-1 was re-entered to obtain Abu Madi gas and condensate production at depth between 2759.50-2782 meters in April 1998. It flowed for five days at a daily rate of 12.5 mmscf/d of gas and 315 bcpd.
The study focuses to find close a correlation as possible as between seismic characters/Attributes and lithology/fluid content in the Miocene-Pliocene formations.
