Abstract
Recently, smart polymers have gained great attention for drug delivery applications. These polymers respond to small changes in environmental conditions. Some polymer systems can gather more than one stimuli-responsive mechanism, for example by responding to both pH and temperature changes.
In drug delivery, polymers that are sensitive to pH variations or temperature changes are particularly interesting materials, since this ability to undergo reversible phase transition or conformational changes depending on the external environment can be used to promote the drug loading, and to modulate the rate and site of drug release.
In our study we aim to prepare new polymer conjugates used in pharmaceutical application.
