المستخلص

Philosophical thinking has always been one of the most important characteristics of human thinking, as a result of the uniqueness of philosophy from all other sciences as it elevates the mind, and adopts an approach in thinking and researching the nature and nature of existence, and then moves to the study of human behavior, its emotions and its constituents, through the three main investigations: Knowledge, existence and values.
Researching the human essence was one of the most important preoccupations of philosophy, knowing how to solve his daily affairs, contemplating the reality of man, and standing up to the extent of the reality of things around him. Every creature on the surface of the globe has a dignity, whether it is a human being, an animal or a plant, but human dignity is the highest and most important among them. God Almighty says in the Holy Qur’an: Of those We have created with preference. And in christianity, God created man ”in his own image”, in honor of him. Religions have agreed that man was created in the best form, and that the human body is a gift from God and a trust that should be preserved from every attack. Kant defines human dignity as ”the value that inherits the human person’s right to enjoy a treatment that makes him an end in himself, and not just a means for others. It follows from this that human dignity requires not materializing the human being and making it a mere tool that can be traded or owned, and then According to this vision, a person possesses an unconditional and incomparable value that is determined on the basis of the person’s independence, and not on the basis of his origin, wealth, or social status.Scientific research has witnessed a great development, led by biology and medicine, because of the direct relationship with humans. In light of what technology and its applications have produced in the fields of medicine and biology, it turns out that humans have succeeded in achieving many successes and solving many health problems that they have been suffering from for a while. for a long time, but at the same time he became a victim of these applications and put himself in the face of many threats, most notably the violation of his dignity and the elimination of his humanity. The amazing development in the field of biotechnology has helped scientists, doctors and biologists to intervene in the human body and conduct experiments on it. However, this intervention has raised the fears and apprehensions of scholars, philosophers, and jurists about the consequences and its ethical dimensions. And since biotechnological practices have become a double-edged sword that has its benefits and bad and destructive harm to humanity, there has been a lot of questioning about the extent of its legitimacy, and the extent to which it can be applied in reality. And since man is still in dire need of treatment for diseases, procreation, and respect for his old age, as legitimate and human demands, what is known as bioethics has emerged, which is a new ethical philosophical discipline concerned with ethical problems and issues posed by rapid developments in the fields of medicine and biology.
Bioethics aims to defend human life and human dignity from experiments that are conducted on him under the pretext of the necessity of scientific progress. Therefore, the problem of this study is based on the following question: What is the extent of the impact of biomedical and biotechnological practices on the principle of human dignity? It can be formulated in another way: What is the fate of human dignity and its future in light of the tremendous progress in the use of modern technologies in the fields of medicine and biology? In order to answer this problem, a set of sub-questions were asked, which can be summarized as follows: 1) What is the concept of human dignity? What is its relationship to human rights? 2) What is the concept of man in contemporary philosophical thought? 3) What are the most important problems and ethical attitudes resulting from modern practices in the field of medicine and biology, such as euthanasia, cloning, stem cells, and others? 4) What is the future of man in light of the use of biotechnology? Is it a threat to human dignity and future? In order to answer this problem, the study was divided into an introduction, an introduction, and five chapters. Each chapter consists of five topics and a conclusion. As for the introduction, it included defining the topic, its importance, objectives, reasons for choosing it, and setting the research problem and methodology, with a review of the most important previous studies that benefited the researcher during her studies. The introduction dealt with a definition of the most important terms used in the study, starting with the term ethics, and ending with ethics and technology.
