Abstract Nanotechnology is of great use for medical diagnosis, and various nanoparticles have exhibited tremendous potential for detecting disease markers, pre-cancerous cells, fragment of viruses, specific proteins, antibodies and other indicators of disease. Our study deals with developing a novel IgG pAb{u2013}coated magnetic microbead nanoparticles antigen-capture immunoassay for rapid detection of circulating SAG1 antigens of T. gondii in serum samples. Sandwich ELISA recorded a sensitivity of 92%, specificity of 92.7%, PPV of 92% and NPV of 92.7%. While IMB-ELISA gave 98%, 96.4%, 96% and 98.1%, respectively, which are higher than sandwich ELISA. It was obvious that the use of magnetic microbead nanoparticles based offer the potential advantage of improving the sensitivity of the assay |
