Abstract

The combined increase in arterial pressure and heart rate during unsuccessful weaning is quite suggestive of weaning failure of cardiac origin. Other alternative modalities supported the presence of cardiovascular causes of weaning failure as: Right heart catheterization, central venous oxygen saturation, transthoracic echocardiography, cardiac biomarkers and detection of weaning - induced hemo - concentration over the last 15 years the oesophageal doppler monitor has provided a minimally invasive continuous {u2018}real time{u2019} means of monitoring cardiac output that correlates well with conventional methods as Transthoracic echocardiography (TTE), pulmonary artery catheter and Trans oesophegeal echocardiography
