Abstract Over a decade, the demand for development of orally disintegrating tablets (ODTs) has enormously increased as it has significant impact on the patient compliance. Orally disintegrating tablets offer an advantage for populations who have difficulty in swallowing. Mosapride Citrate is a gastroprokinetic agent which enhances gastrointestinal motility by stimulating the frequency of peristalsis or contractions in the small intestine. Abdominal discomfort, constipation, heart burn, nausea, vomiting, boating and other gastrointestinal symptoms are relieved by these agents. Mosapride is a selective 5-HT4 receptor agonist. Two methods were used Direct compression method and freeze drying method. Preparation of Mosapride Citrate fast release tablets using different fillers (lactose fast flow, mannitol, Avicel and lactose monohydrate), different binders (PVP K25, PVP k30, PVP K90, gelatin, Croscarmellose, Sodium Starch Glycolate and Crosspovidone) each at two different concentrations 3 and 5%, and 1% talc as lubricant were used. The dose of Mosapride Citrate was 10 mg/tablet |
