Abstract

This thesis deals with the contribution of some antibiotic compounds. Two of these drugs were selected for the study and research which are Ofloxacin and Ornidazole.
The aim of this thesis is to develop selective and sensitive methods for analyzing the previously mentioned drugs, provided that these methods are of a sufficient degree of ease, sensitivity and accuracy. Also, these drugs have been analyzed by applying these methods in their pharmaceutical forms and compared to previously published or approved methods in the Pharmacopoeia.
This thesis consists of five parts in addition to a list of references and two abstracts in Arabic and English:
Part I: General introduction on antibiotics and literature review of the studied drugs.
Part II: Thin layer chromatographic method for the determination of a mixture of Ofloxacin and Ornidazole in raw material and dosage form using different detection methods.
- TLC Smartphone method.
- TLC Densitometric method.
Part III: Electrochemical method for the determination of Ofloxacin in presence of Ornidazole in raw material, dosage form and biological fluids using ion selective electrode sensors.
Part IV: Spectrophotometric methods for the determination of a mixture of Ofloxacin and Ornidazole in raw material and dosage form with the application of greenness assessment tools by:
-Ratio difference (RD) method.
-Mean centering of ratio spectra (MCR) method.-Continuous wavelet transform of ratio spectra (CWT) method
Part V: General conclusion.
