Abstract This study aims to validate finite element modeling protocol for sheathed screw connections. The Concrete Damage Plasticity model was used to model the sheathing boards. Uniaxial tests were performed to serve as a source of material parameters. The models were calibrated against experimental. The validated FE models were used to perform parametric study to assess the effect of different parameters. New expressions were formulated using nonlinear regression analysis to determine the ultimate strength of sheathed screw connections |
