Abstract

Aim of work: The aim of this study was to characterize each breast cancer subtype by imaging. Imaging characterization of each molecular subtype may enhance diagnosis &treatment for breast cancer
Patient and methodology: A sample of 50 breast cancer patient were assessed, included in our study with selection criteria to exclude any priorly treated patient by neoadjuvant chemotherapy. There were an overlapping in imaging criteria for each breast cancer subtype.
Conclusion: In conclusion, we found luminal type appears by sonomammographic examination as a high density hypoechoic irregular mass lesion and as an irregular spiculated hypointense lesion by MRI takes homogeneous mass enhancement mostly shows initial repaid enhancement uptake with rapid wash out (type 3 curve).
luminal HER2 subtype appears as hypoechoic irregular lesion on ultrasound examination, on mammographic imaging appears as high density irregular lesions of a obscured margin yet on MRI appears as oval hypointense lesion on T2 with irregular margin mostly takes initial rapid enhancement with rapid wash out (type 3 curve).
HER2-neu subtype appears as hypoechoic irregular lesion on ultrasound examination, on mammographic imaging appears as high density irregular lesions yet on MRI appears as irregular hypointense lesion on T2 with irregular margin mostly takes heterogeneous mass enhancement on post contrast T1WI,shows initial repaid enhancement with rapid wash out (type 3 curve)
Triple -ve subtype appears as hypoechoic irregular lesion on ultrasound examination, on mammographic imaging appears as high density irregular lesions with obscured margin yet on MRI appears as irregular hypointense lesion on T2 with irregular margin mostly takes heterogeneous mass enhancement on post contrast T1WI,shows initial repaid enhancement with rapid wash out (type 3 curve)
