Abstract

Background: Urinary incontinence as a result of surgical prostatectomy causes embracement. As a result, patients avoid social events and lose self-confidence, which is a major source of concern for patients and a difficult problem for physicians to solve. Purpose: The goal of this study was to see if progressive resistance training could help with stress urine incontinence after a prostatectomy. Methods: This study included sixty male patients with post-prostatectomy stress urine incontinence. Their ages ranged from 40 to 75, and they were randomly classified into two groups of equal number. group (A) (Study group):This group included 30 patients who had post prostatectomy stress urinary incontinence and they received progressive resistance training in addition to interferential current stimulation and routine medical treatment three sessions per week for 12 weeks. group (B) (Control group): This group included 30 patients who had post prostatectomy stress urinary incontinence and they received interferential current stimulation and routine medical treatment three sessions per week for 12 weeks. Results: The current study’s findings revealed a significant difference in all measured variables when comparing pre and post-treatment values of the groups (A and B),Conclusion: Progressive resistance training reduced post-prostatectomy stress urine incontinence, and there was a significant difference in favour of group A when contrasting post-treatment values of the two groups (A and B).
