Abstract 5-Hydrazinylmethylene-2-thioxo-4-thiazolidinone derivative was prepared and taken as a synthetic precursor for the synthesis of different pyrazoles and indazoles-based derivatives. 5-Cycloalkylidene-2-thioxo-4-thiazolidinone derivatives were prepared and their synthetic potential was investigated to prepare various N-substituted and S-substituted 4-thiazolidinone derivatives. 2-Thioxo-4- thiazolidinone was used to construct new 1,4-bis[thiazolidin-5- ylidenemethyl]benzene derivative as a precursor for novel bis-polysubstituted thiazolidinones of interesting biological activity. 4-Thioxo-2-thiazolidinone reacted with 3-aryl-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carbaldehydes to give the corresponding 5- arylmethylene derivatives which their synthetic potential, as reactive dienes, was investigated against different dienophiles in, regioselective and stereoselective, hetero-Diels-Alder reactions to give the corresponding pyrazole-based thiopyrano[2,3-d]thiazole derivatives. Structures of all newly synthesized heterocyclic compounds were established by considering the data of both spectral data (X-ray, NMR, Mass and IR) and elemental analysis. |
