In the cosmetic field, skin aging prevention and treatment is a driving force for the development of new raw materials. Mesotherapy has become a popular therapeutic alternative. The Role of Platelet rich plasma (PRP) in tissue regeneration and repair due to its high content of biological growth factors, has recently directed its therapeutic applications in a variety of dermatological disorders including skin rejuvenation. Aim of work: The current randomized split-face clinical trial aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of autologous PRP to mesotherapy in management of skin aging. Patient and Methods: Twenty female patients with skin types III-IV and primary aging signs were enrolled in this study. In each patient, two areas were randomly assigned to receive treatment either by mesotherapy (area A) or PRP (area B). All patients were subjected to 6 sessions with 2 weeks interval. Average of three blinded investigators used to evaluate degree of clinical improvement depending on patient, digital photos, and dermoscopic images. Evaluation was done by assessing the change in skin turgor, elasticity, hydration, and over all vitality of the face after treatment in both areas, through Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale (GAIS) and patients satisfaction Level (PSL) |
