Abstract
The aim of present study was the uses of 4- methyl cyanoacetanilide (1) in the synthesis of pyridine, pyran, thiophene, thiazole, pyrimidine, chromen derivatives together with their uses in heterocyclic synthesis. The work has resulted in the synthesis of a variety of 2- amino pyran derivatives, 2- hydroxy pyran derivatives, 2-amino pyridine derivatives, 2- hydroxy pyridine derivatives, 4,5,6,7 tetrahydrobenzo[b]thiophene derivatives, N-benzal derivative, N-acetyl derivative, N- phenylthiourea derivative, thiazole derivatives, pyrimidine derivative, phenylhydrazone derivative, benzalydine derivative , ethoxyethine derivative, N- phenylmethino derivative
