Abstract

Governance can be defined as the systems and processes concerned with ensuring the overall direction, supervision and accountability of an organization. It is also a transparent decision-making process in which the leadership of a nonprofit organization, in an effective and accountable way, directs resources and exercises power on the basis of shared values. The general objective of the study was to investigate the impact of corporate governance practices on the organizational effectiveness of NGOs in Palestine, a survey of NGOs in Gaza strip, The study narrowed its undertakings into; board good governance aspects, and NGOs organizational effectiveness perspectives, Literature review looked into theories surrounding corporate governance and conceptualization of the following factors: roles and responsibilities of the board, balance scorecard methodology to address and measure the organizational effectiveness, and the causality level of the Impact of corporate governance on the organizational effectiveness. This research studied the NGOs board good governance structure in terms of key role and responsibilities of boards of directors (board of directors{u2018} membership, meetings and committees, policies and procedures, board performance and leadership, Financial management and control, and Relationship with the CEO), furthermore the research studied the organizational effectiveness of NGOs in term of using balance scorecard four traditional perspectives as a methodology for addressing and measuring organizational effectiveness (financial perspective, internal process perspective, customer and stakeholders perspective, and learning and growth perspective), from NGOs board of directors members Perspective
