المستخلص The purposes of this study were to define the translation skills needed for 1st secondary students, and to explore the effectiveness of applying a blended learning approach to developing these skills. This study adopted a quasi-experimental research design. The participants were selected from among 1st year secondary students at Maadi Azhar Institute in Cairo. They were divided into two groups: 20 students in a control group, taught using traditional face to face textbook-centered learning; and 20 students in an experimental group taught using a blended learning program designed by the researcher. The findings showed that there was a significant difference (at Ü{u2264}0. 01) in the mean score of the post-test in favor of the experimental group. The findings also indicated that there was a statistically significant difference (at Ü {u2264}0. 01) in the participants’ achievement.
