Abstract
Simplified self etch adhesives are now commonly used in dental clinics due to their being non aggressive in nature and composition, but if compared to gold standard of adhesion of etch and rinse adhesives they are questionable, their performance can be improved by some modifications to their chemical structure by addition of 10 - MDP functional monomer. The present thus acid base resistant zone can be interpreted below the hybrid layer which makes the adhesive bond more resistant to secondary caries attack. Human dentin was bonded with MDP based fluoride containing two step self etch SE protect bond (CSP, koraray medical). The specimon were cither left untreated control or subjected to acid - base challenge with demineralising solution pH 4,5 and 5% NaCIO
