Abstract Executing construction projects in densely populated areas can have significant social and economic impacts which can lead to project failure. The objective of this research is to present an assessment framework capable of minimizing the effect of socioeconomic disruptions of dense urban construction. The assessment process incorporates five socioeconomic metrics, (1) travel delays; (2) relocated residents; (3) closed businesses; (4) loss of income; and (5) noise inconvenience. The presented model provides a simple user friendly framework utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Spreadsheets to solve the problem of data shortage during the planning stages of the project |
