Abstract This study was conducted to determine the effect of sodium diclofenac phonophoresis versus kinesio tape in the treatment of post natal de quervain{u2019}s tenosynovitis. Thirty women participated in this study. They had post natal de quervain{u2019}s tenosynovitis. They were chosen randomly from outpatient clinic of faculty of physical therapy Cairo university. Their ages ranged from 20 to 40 years old. They were divided randomly into two groups equal in number, group (A) was treated by sodium diclofenac phonophoresis with continuous mode for 5 mins, 3 times/ week for two weeks while group (B) was treated by kinesio tape 3 times/week for two weeks changed every other day. Pain and grip muscle strength were evaluated pre and post treatment (after 2weeks) and follow up (after another 2 weeks) without any intervention for both groups. The obtained results showed a statistically significant decrease in pain and increase in pinch grip muscle strength in both groups post treatment and at follow up, when both groups were compared together, there was no statistically significant difference in pain, palmer and key pinch grip strength between the two studied groups pre and post treatment and at follow up, also there was no statistically significant difference pre- treatment in tip pinch grip strength but there was a statistically significant increase in group (A) than group (B) post treatment and at follow up |
