Abstract

The clavicle is the most frequently fractured bone of the human skeleton, 70-80% of fractures occur at the middle third of the shaft of the bone. The present work was designed to study the anatomy of the clavicle and its medullary canal in Egyptians. Fifty CT scans were studied, cases were divided equally into 2 groups 25 males and 25 females. It was noted that the left clavicle was longer than the right one in both sexes, Also the medial curvature of the clavicle was larger than the lateral curvature of the clavicle in both sexes, the medullary canal dimensions were significantly larger in males than in females
