Abstract
Obese patients who subjected to their first elective cesarean section and had a BMI of more than 32 were divided into two groups randomly. The first group was using an amount of about 50 ml of povidone-iodine in the subcutaneous tissue and the second group did not apply povidone-iodine with following the same caesarean section procedures, using the same spinal anesthesia, giving the same antibiotic doses, and using the same type of threads for the uterus, the layers of the abdomen and the subcutaneous tissue and skin, and the wound infection was reassessed one week after the caesarean section. After performing the previous steps, it was found that there was no difference in wound infection between any of the two groups
