Abstract

LUTS due to BPH and ED are two common associated age-related problems.
Treatment of previously mentioned two conditions used to be separate using alpha-blockers with or without 5 alpha reductase inhibitors to treat LUTS and Phosphodiesterase inhibitors to treat ED.
Tadalafil was permitted as a treatment for LUTS but its efficacy against its combination with alpha-blocker was unclear hence is this study.
All patients tolerated both protocols of treatment with no significantly bothering side effects.
In conclusion, Tadalafil showed statistically significant improvement in all parameters of management protocol with accepted safety profile. However, the combination therapy was superior to monotherapy in all aspects regarding IPSS, IIEF, PVR and Q-MAX.
