Abstract The present study was carried out at the Nursery of Ornamental plants, Horticulture Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Minia University during two seasons 2019 and 2020 to study the effect of organic and bio and/or mineral NPK fertilization and their interaction on growth parameters and chemical composition of sabal (Sabal palmetto) seedlings. All used treatments of compost significantly increased all vegetative growth traits (plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves per plant, leaf area, plant fresh and dry weights, leaves fresh and dry weights, root fresh and dry weights) as well as some chemical constituents (chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b and carotenoids, and NPK percentages) compared with control. Also, the previous traits significantly increased due to mineral and/or bio fertilization compared with control. The best interaction treatment which enhanced the growth of sabal plant was supplied plant with 330 g compost plus 75% mineral NPK + Minia azoten. |
